Burlington is about 15 minutes from Penwood's Oakville showroom at 270 North Service Rd W, down the QEW. That's the closest location, and it's where most Burlington customers go when they're ready to order a dining set or bedroom suite.
Penwood has been building solid wood furniture since 1993. The 20+ Mennonite master builders work out of small shops on farms across southern Ontario, cutting and finishing every piece by hand. Cherry, oak, walnut and maple, kiln-dried, in 30+ hand-applied stains.
Dining Tables Built to Your Room
Most Burlington dining rooms don’t fit a standard-size table. Penwood builds custom. You choose the wood, the dimensions, the finish and the leg style. A six-seat cherry table in a walnut stain and the same table in maple with a natural finish look nothing alike, and both are built to last for generations.
Lead time is 8 to 12 weeks from order to delivery. Matching chairs are built in the same wood and finish as the table, from the same shop, so everything coordinates.
What Makes It Penwood
A Penwood piece is full-thickness solid hardwood. The same cherry or oak you see on the surface runs the whole depth of every board and every leg, with no veneer over a particle-board core. The lumber is Canadian, hand-selected from Ontario mills and kiln-dried to the right moisture content before it’s cut, so the wood stays true through dry winters and humid summers. It’s built by Mennonite craftspeople in small farm workshops across southern Ontario, the same way it’s been done for generations.
The Oakville showroom is a short drive down the QEW. You can see the wood in daylight, compare finishes side by side, and talk through a project with someone who knows the furniture from the build side.
